About this property

This well-appointed common room in a co-living condo at Ridgewood Condominium is a great choice for students looking for a social, comfortable living experience near Holland Village and NUS. Ridgewood Condominium sits in the peaceful Mount Sinai enclave, a quiet residential area that feels a world away from the city bustle — but isn't. Farrer Road MRT (Circle Line) is nearby, connecting you to Holland Village, the CBD, and beyond. NUS and the one-north tech cluster are a short commute away, making this an excellent base for students and researchers. The unit is fully furnished — bed, wardrobe, and study desk included — with high-speed WiFi and regular housekeeping. Utilities are included in your rent, but at a cap of $400 per month for the whole unit; any excess is split amongst the tenants.

Frequently asked questions

What kind of rental is this?

You rent a private room here and share the common areas — kitchen, living room, and bathrooms — with the other tenants in the unit.

Is the landlord on the premises?

No, the landlord does not live on the property.

Can I view a room before committing?

For independently sourced rentals, a live in-person viewing is strongly recommended — it's the most reliable way to verify a property is legitimate. For properties listed through WelcomeStay, we are invited by NTU to help students source accommodation and have already done that layer of verification on your behalf, so many students book remotely with confidence. That said, if you'd still prefer a viewing, let us know and we'll check whether the co-living provider can accommodate a Zoom walkthrough — note that live in-person viewings may not always be possible if a room is currently occupied.

I'm arriving alone. Will I end up living with strangers?

We know that's a real concern. WelcomeStay offers a personal housemate matching service — tell us your preferences and we'll find compatible housemates for you in the same unit. You're not just booking a room; you're choosing who you live with.

Do I pay WelcomeStay for the room?

No. You pay the landlord directly — WelcomeStay does not process or hold rental payments. The financial relationship for rent and deposits is entirely between you and the property owner.

How much does it cost to move in?

Your upfront cost is typically 2 to 3 months' rent: first month's rent plus a 1-month deposit (for leases under 12 months) or a 2-month deposit (for 12 months or longer). Rent is paid monthly throughout your tenancy — you will not be asked to pay the full lease term upfront.

What are the red flags for rental scams I should know?

The biggest ones to watch for: a request to pay the full year's rent upfront before moving in; verbal agreements only with no written contract; cash-only payments with no receipts; requests to sign documents on behalf of other people; a landlord who refuses to stamp the tenancy agreement; and any request to pay rent or a deposit to an agent rather than directly to the property owner. If something feels off, it probably is — walk away.
